Your local electrician in Littlehampton

Littlehampton is right on our doorstep, and we're there regularly. From the older terraces and the housing around the harbour and Wick, to the newer developments toward Rustington, the town's mix of coastal homes keeps the work varied, from sympathetic rewires to EV chargers, lighting and fuse box upgrades.

Wherever you are around Littlehampton, you get a local team that arrives when promised, protects your home while working and leaves everything spotless, with your certificate to prove the job was done right.

We are based in Rustington, just east of Littlehampton. The town is a few minutes away and part of our normal week.

Harbour streets, Victorian homes and new estates

Littlehampton grew from a fishing village into a port and seaside resort in the 1800s. The town went from about 600 people in 1801 to almost 6,000 by 1901. Many homes from that time still stand near the river and the seafront.

Arun District Council lists three conservation areas in the town: East Street, River Road and the Seafront. Old homes here have often been rewired bit by bit over the years. We test first, so we know what each circuit does before we touch it.

After the war the town spread out to take in Wick, Lyminster and Toddington. Since then hundreds of new homes have gone up north of the town, under a plan for up to 1,260. The Lyminster bypass opened in 2022.

Renting is common near the river. In the 2021 Census about one in three homes in River ward was privately rented. Many are flats, converted houses or homes over shops.

What we get called out for in Littlehampton

Licensed shared houses

Arun runs an extra HMO licence in River ward until January 2030. We test shared homes and give you the report the licence needs.

Flats and converted houses

Houses split into flats often have mixed-up supplies. We test each flat plus the shared hallway lights and alarms.

Rewires in older homes

Old houses near the river often have old wiring mixed with new. We trace each circuit and make it safe.

Car chargers on new estates

Newer homes north of the town often want a charger on the drive. We check the supply, fit it and certify it.

What we do in Littlehampton

Electrician in Littlehampton, questions answered

Does my shared house in Littlehampton need a licence?

It may, if it is in River ward. Arun's extra scheme runs there until January 2030. Homes with 5 or more sharers need a licence anywhere in England. Check with Arun District Council. We can do the electrical report.

How much does a rewire cost in Littlehampton?

It depends on the size of the house, how many circuits you want and how easy it is to get under the floors. We look first. Then you get one fixed price in writing.

Can you work on a home in a conservation area?

Yes. Most indoor wiring needs no planning consent. If your home is listed, check with Arun District Council before any work that changes it. We keep new fittings neat and out of sight where we can.

Do you cover Wick and Lyminster?

Yes. We cover the whole town, from East Beach and the harbour up to Wick, Lyminster and Toddington.
