Fitting home car chargers is some of our most-requested work, and Worthing throws up more awkward installs than most towns. A charger on a modern estate in Durrington is a straightforward job. A charger on a Victorian terrace off Chapel Road, where the meter is under the stairs and the parking is at the far end of a shared alley, is not.
That is the part we take the most trouble over. We plan the cable route before we quote, and customers regularly tell us we took the harder route to keep the cable out of sight rather than the quickest one. Trunking colour-matched to the brickwork, a buried run under a driveway, a route through a garage rather than across a front elevation: whatever keeps the finished job looking like nothing was added.
We also check your incoming supply before quoting, not after. If your board needs an upgrade to take a charger you will know the cost up front rather than halfway through the day.
Terrace and flat installs
The awkward ones: shared alleys, rear parking and meters in odd places. We plan the route before we price it.
Cable you cannot see
Buried runs, colour-matched trunking and routes through garages, rather than a cable clipped across the front of the house.
Supply checked first
Your incoming supply and consumer unit assessed before the quote, with any upgrade priced up front.
Working and explained
Tested, certified and notified, the app set up and a proper run-through before we leave.
Your questions, answered
How much does an EV charger cost to install in Worthing?
It depends on the charger you choose and how far the cable has to run. A garage next to the board is a different job to a rear parking space fifteen metres away. We look first, then give one fixed price in writing.
Can I have a charger on a terraced house with no driveway?
Often yes, if you have rear parking, a garage or off-street space. What we cannot do is run a cable across a public pavement. We will tell you honestly at the quote whether it works.
Will my electrics take a charger?
Usually. We check the incoming supply and your consumer unit before quoting, and if an upgrade is needed we explain why and price it separately so you can see what you are paying for.
Which charger should I get?
It depends on your car, your parking and whether you want smart scheduling for a cheap overnight tariff. We fit the main brands and will tell you plainly which suits you, including when the cheaper unit is the right answer.
